About Stephen Hicks

Dr. Hicks is Professor of Philosophy and the Executive Director of the Center for Ethics and Entrepreneurship. His books include Explaining Postmodernism: Skepticism and Socialism from Rousseau to Foucault, Nietzsche and the Nazis, and The Best Work of the Best Minds: Business Ethics and Value Creation. He is also the co-editor of The Art of Reasoning: Readings for Logical Analysis (W.W. Norton and Co., now in its second edition). He has published in numerous magazines and scholarly journals, including Review of Metaphysics, The Journal of Private Enterprise, Teaching Philosophy, and popular outlets such as The Wall Street Journal.
His writings have been translated into thirteen languages: Portuguese, Spanish, German, Korean, Persian, Serbo-Croatian, Polish, Swedish, Hindi, Russian, Ukrainian, Cantonese, and Arabic.

He received his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees from the University of Guelph, Canada, and his PhD in philosophy from Indiana University, Bloomington.
