About Jay Friedenberg

Jay Friedenberg is Professor of Psychology at Manhattan College. His academic interests include cognitive science, artificial intelligence and visual perception.
Friedenberg co-authored, with Gordon Silverman, the best-selling Cognitive Science: An Introduction to the Study of Mind. He has also written books on artificial intelligence and on topics in dynamical systems and complexity theory.
His books include Visual Attention and Consciousness; Dynamical Psychology: Complexity, Self-Organization and the Mind; and Artificial Psychology: The Quest for What it Means to be Human. Friedenberg has also penned numerous articles on visual perception.
Dr. Friedenberg is a member of the New York Academy of Sciences, The Psychonomic Society, Phi Beta Kappa, and Sigma Xi.
His personal interests include aphorisms, haiku, and landscape art.
