You’re invited: The Atlas Society and The Great Connections are teaming up to offer a seminar on Individualism, Friday, October 11 from 1:30 - 4:30 PM at the Westin New York Grand Central Hotel.

Speakers and topics include:

  • The Atlas Society CEO, Jennifer Grossman, will kick off the event with opening remarks.

  • The Atlas Society Senior Editor Marilyn Moore, Ph.D will present “Don’t Knock on Wood: Why Ayn Rand’s Characters Are As Human As You Are,” which examines reasons for the mistaken belief that Ayn Rand’s characters are wooden and one-dimensional.

  • The Great Connections Founder and Program Director Marsha Familaro Enright will lead you and other attendees in a collaborative discussion about the connections between Objectivism and the concept of Flow. We’ll provide copies of a very short excerpt from the book Flow: The Psychology of Optimal Experience, by Mihalyi Csikszentmihalyi for everyone to use.

  • The Atlas Society Senior Scholar Stephen Hicks, Ph.D will investigate “How Individualistic Are Young Socialists?” to see whether a message of principled individualism can make headway against the vague and muddled collectivism of popular socialist aspirations.

There is no charge for the program, but registration is mandatory.
